I have been active my whole life & played most sports. I've always enjoyed being active. When I was 12, I moved to Hawaii & that was tough for me. It led to the beginning of my life's transformation & purpose. In high school, I was one of the only white kids which led me to isolate and not do sports because of the bullying. I eventually gained a lot of weight & became very unhealthy. After a few years of the bullying, I took up martial arts to learn to protect myself. I trained in Muay Thai & Jiu Jitsu. It was good to feel like I could defend myself, but it also led into a big obsession with my eating. I obsessively studied calories, macros & the effects of food & the body. This was not necessarily a good thing. I lost a lot of weight & muscle. I didn't have enough knowledge about food, diet, & muscle building yet. I was doing 3 hours of martial arts/day & not eating nearly enough. I was 135 lbs and 6'1.
At 18, I had enough & was sick of feeling depressed, tired & weak & I needed change. I joined a coaching program from a bodybuilder & it taught me about food, performance, & body composition. After learning how to eat right for body transformations, I gained 50 lbs of muscle in 1 year. Since then, I continued to study fitness, weight lifting, diet & nutrition in college & after. Since 2010, I have been helping friends & family with their health/fitness & it became a deep passion of mine to this day.
Over the years I have gone through phases of being in & out of shape. Just because you know how to do it, doesn't mean you always will. Being a part of a community that helps you stay motivated has been when I always had the most success, which is why my wife & I started The Ark Fit. We love helping people & wanted to create a safe, loving, & encouraging environment to help people with their goals.
Now, I've found a balance of eating healthy, but not obsessively. I love to help people achieve their health & fitness goals. I truly believe deep down in my heart that anyone is capable of achieving any of their health & fitness goals, no matter how big or small they are. Sometimes we just might need help & I want to be able to help you.Say something interesting about your business here.
Hey guys! If you don't know me already my name is Stephanie and I am one of the trainers here at The Ark Fit. I wanted to share a little bit about my fitness journey and how I got to where I am today. I grew up very active. Played soccer from when I was 5 years old and all through high school. My junior year of high school I decided to throw in the towel and call it quits. I cruised through my senior year and into college not playing any sports or working out in any way. I ate whatever I wanted, gained some weight and eventually became very unhappy with how I looked or felt. I had very little confidence with my body and knew I needed to make a change.
In 2015 I started a 21 Day Challenge at a gym and lost about 10lbs. I didn't want all of my hard work to go to waste, so I signed up for the gym membership and continued working out. In 2016 I started a program that provided semi private sessions with a coach, weekly weigh-ins and nutritional advice. This program kick started my entire fitness journey and I learned how to manage my meals, weight, portions and how to incorporate it into my day to day life. I started feeling stronger, energized, more confident and overall found a healthy sustainable lifestyle.
It only continued to grow from there and lead me to The Ark Fit, which has truly changed my life because now I get the honor to help and support people on their fitness journey just like I was given. I absolutely love helping those around me reach and strive for any and all goals that they have. If it wasn't for that program and The Ark Fit, I would not be where I am today!
Hey guys! I just wanted to let you guys know a little more about my fitness journey. I have always been active & it really started with tennis! I’ve played tennis since I was 8, & all the way up into college, it was all I really knew. My sole focus was to make it into college to play tennis. Everything I did was in pursuit of this goal and I made that happen! Unfortunately, due to family obligations at the time, I wasn’t able to pursue what I truly wanted & I was lost as to what to do next.
Not knowing my purpose—or even my next step—left me distraught & confused. That never changed throughout college once I stopped playing tennis. I didn’t see a reason to compete because there was nothing I was striving for. That freshman year I had an experience that most typically do in college. I drank & ate way more than was healthy, & that I found myself being 20 lbs heavier with little to no muscle.
Eventually I was tired of feeling lost in life & I wanted to take charge of where I was headed. My new goal was to find my purpose/calling in life. I made it a goal in 2019 that I would start working out. After watching/reading thousand of videos & articles learning how to workout & how to eat, I fell in love with the confidence, mental clarity, & process of working out. I found the Ark Fit at the end of 2019, & I ended up loving the environment & what it stood for. I’ve never left since.
Finding a reason & goal is an important part of a transformation. Now, I workout because, yes, physically it makes me feel/look better but also mentally it allows me to do something beneficial for myself & my family.
I am just like you guys! I started as a member of this community and I think that is what sets The Ark Fit apart. The purpose I spent so long finding is helping you.
